PURPOSE:

The Learning Center Executive Director (Executive Director) is responsible for assisting the Lead Pastor with strategic planning and goal setting for the Life Church Learning Centers.  The Executive Director ensures the Learning Centers stay aligned with the goals and objectives of Life Church as directed by the Lead Pastor.  He/She also oversees the day-to-day facilitation of the administrative, financial, and operational functions of the Learning Centers, including facility management, payroll, budgets, and special projects for the Learning Centers.  The Executive Director also serves as the point of contact for government agencies that serve the Learning Centers, including but not limited to CCS, Federal Food Program, Head Start, United Way, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters in Education or equivalent
  • Minimum five years experience working in the education system - preferably early childhood

RELATIONSHIP:

The Executive Director is under the direct supervision of the Lead Pastor and is amenable to the Life Church Official Board.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learning Center Operations

  1. Execute and attain the Learning Center’s short and long-term goals including maintaining enrollment numbers at budgeted levels.
  2. Oversee the daily operations of the Learning Centers, including ensuring Director level on-site supervision is in place should the Center Director be absent for longer than two days.
  3. Manage Learning Center facilities and administration, including but not limited to supply, maintenance, and minor building repairs.
  4. Administer and enforce the Learning Centers administrative policies and procedures to achieve strategic goals.
  5. Oversee and supervise the Learning Center Directors.  Serves as the liaison between the Learning Centers and the pastoral team.
  6. Ensures Learning Centers stay in alignment with all licensing requirements
  7. Maintains employee records for Learning Center personnel.
  8. Serves as the primary overseer of the Learning Center databases and systems
  9. Continually works to improve Learning Center processes and ensures both Centers align in those goals and processes.
  10. Oversees and administers all outside resources that work with the Learning Centers, including Head Start, Texas Workforce Commission, the federal food program.
  11. Continually seeks out grant and other opportunities to improve Learning Center services.
  12. Ensures Learning Centers are meeting the financial goals set forth by the Lead Pastor.

About Life Church

Life Church is multi-campus Assemblies of God Church located in San Antonio, TX.  The church has been in existence for over fifty years - formally Valley Hi Assembly of God - and opened a second campus early in 2019.  We are in the process of constructing a new Children's and Youth Center at our West Campus to minister and support a growing number of young families.
