Accounting Assistant – Cash Applications
Reports to: Finance Director



Job Summary:

Responsible for cash receipts data entry of donations & sponsorship. This includes balancing and verifying the accuracy of the gift entry and preparing daily deposits.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Batches daily cash receipts for data entry and verifying accuracy of sponsorship forms and match them to gifts given.
2. Accurate posting of cash receipts, with high attention to detail, to existing pledges, recurring gifts, one time donations, and funds, etc…
3. Processing checks, cash, credit cards, and debit cards
4. Responsible for resolution of unapplied cash or questions concerning application of funds including contacting Donors for information
5. Balance each batch posting to check copies and prepare daily bank deposits.
6. Clean up and maintain constituent information in Blackbaud Raisers Edge
7. Assist the Sponsorship coordinator
8. Also assist other members of the finance department as needed
9. May also be asked to fill in at reception desk occasionally.

2. Strong analytical skills
3. Good attention to detail
4. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as subordinately and independently.
5. Ability to interact with donors via phone, mail, email, or in person.
6. Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook
7. Prior experience in Blackbaud Raisers Edge is desired, but will train
