Marketing & Publicity Associate-Washington, DC

Regnery Publishing, the leading book publisher in conservative and current event titles, has an immediate opening for a self-motivated and highly organized Marketing and Publicity Associate with a specific focus on backlist titles (titles 1+ years post-publication).

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, creative, and strategic thinker with experience in marketing, media, and/or publicity and engaged in the conservative community.

The Marketing and Publicity Associate will be responsible for developing and implementing creative marketing and publicity strategies for Regnery backlist titles, including social media, email marketing, broadcast, print, and electronic media.

Ideal candidate will have:

• 1+ years’ experience in media relations and/or marketing;
• Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, marketing, public relations or equivalent experience;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, high energy, and the ability to successfully manage several campaigns at one time;
• Knowledge and understanding of conservative marketplace and media landscape
• Experience using social media and email marketing to reach target audiences
• Ability to design simple graphics for social media and email promotions

Successful candidate will:

• Be highly organized and detail-oriented
• Develop creative hooks
• Have strong pitching techniques and phone skills
• Understand the importance of follow-up
• Use A/B testing and keep diligent records to measure and improve the efficacy of marketing campaigns
• Be highly attuned to breaking news and trending social media topics
• Be a confident self-starter who can independently identify and exploit daily marketing, publicity, and sales opportunities
