Office Manager
Job Description
Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to help move the mission of the church forward by helping to lead the office operations of the church. This ministry position focuses on providing professional administrative support for the
church staff, elders, deacons and ministry leaders. This person will also represent Rock Creek Church to those that the church regularly interacts with by phone, internet or in person.
Reports to - Senior pastor
Relates closely with – Worship Leader, elders, deacons and ministry leaders
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead in designing and developing the primary modes of communication between the church, its members, and the community (currently website, weekly bulletin, E-News, Facebook, Planning Center Online and web-based communication services)
- In coordination with the staff, help create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices and implementing changes
- Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, and maintaining equipment inventories. Evaluate new equipment and techniques
- Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies; place and expedite orders for supplies; verify receipt of supplies
- Oversee master calendar of events
- Maintain office procedures and work instructions. Help establish office procedures and work instructions. Recruit volunteers and delegate appropriate tasks.
- Oversee membership maintenance, update information in PCO profiles
- Participate in staff meetings
- Oversee the collection of the mail from the mailbox and open incoming mail, distributing to appropriate persons
- Prepare and maintain regular reports as directed by pastoral staff
- Answer phone and email inquiries, receive and greet incoming visitors with professionalism
- Assist in planning and coordinating various church activities
- Provide ongoing administrative support for Children’s Ministry, Community Group Ministry and Connections Ministry
- Assist the Senior Pastor by following through on any assigned duties
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and follow through skills
- Excellent proofreading skills, eye for detail in all written communications
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Outlook)
- Preferred experience in web design, but not necessary
- Creating and managing ongoing processes

- Agreement with statement of faith and willingness to embrace the church’s mission, vision and design
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience within the church or parachurch
Compensation:
$35,000 - $45,000 depending upon experience plus health benefits
