Chapelwood United Methodist Church, founded in 1949, is a 6,000+ member church located in the Memorial Villages area of Houston, TX. It is a “community of communities,” with two campuses housing five worship communities, which host eight weekly worship venues all serving under a common mission, values, and disciple-making pathway.

Chapelwood School for Young Children (CSYC) was established in 1958 as a ministry of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, in an answer to the identified need for quality children's preschool programs in the Memorial area. A highly reputable and established institution, CSYC educates nearly 400 children each year. The school is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and maintains comparable standards of quality and excellence as determined by the National Accreditation Commission (NAC). In a new season of growth, Chapelwood School for Young Children is seeking an Administrator to successfully champion the mission of the school in unity with the church, in both internal and external capacities.

The Administrator for Chapelwood School for Young Children is responsible for overseeing the school as a ministry of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, and holding the school to the highest standard for education and preparation for Kindergarten. The Administrator will bear chief spiritual and administrative oversight of CSYC and its constituents. Furthermore, this position will ensure the effective and successful implementation, management, and sustainability of the spiritual climate, holistic development, business operations, curriculum strategies, staff development, and program execution of Chapelwood School for Young Children.

The next Administrator of CSYC will be one who will Listen, Learn, and Lead. This individual’s leadership acumen will be marked by a strong spiritual stride, academic expertise, and relational intelligence. They will be charged with the responsibility of effectively meeting, achieving, and exceeding all goals and expectations required of the position. A state of Texas Director Certification (or willingness to obtain one within 3-months of employment) with a minimum of 5 years experience in educational administration or ministry leadership and an undergraduate degree in related field is required for this position.

The school is located in Piney Point Village, a city in Harris County, Texas, on the west side of Houston. A subdivision in the Memorial Village area, Piney Point Village was dubbed the wealthiest location in Texas by per capita income in 2010. Development of the city started in the 1950s and 1960s, during Houston’s suburban boom. Today, elegant homes, tree-lined streets, and upscale estates remain renown due to its accessibility, education, employment, community, proximity, and real estate.

Houston is the 4th largest city in the United States and the largest city in the state of Texas. It is the home of the Texas Medical Center, the world's largest concentration of healthcare, research institutions, and NASA's Johnson Space Center where the Mission Control Center is located. Rated as a global city, Houston's economy has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. It is also leading in health care sectors and building oilfield equipment; only New York City is home to more Fortune 500 headquarters. Houston boasts a population with various ethnic and religious backgrounds and a large and growing international community. It is home to many cultural institutions and exhibits, which attract more than 7 million visitors a year.
