Job Description:

The Special Assistant to the VP for Home Office Services (Special Assistant for Home Office Services) will provide administrative support to the Vice President of Home Office Services and will play a key role in keeping the business operations/activities organized, on track, and moving forward for the Home Office Services division (including the following departments: Communications, Human Resources, Information Technology, Guest Services/Food Services, and Facilities). This position requires well-developed organizational, follow-through, and communication skills.

This is a full-time position located at ABWE Headquarters in Harrisburg, PA. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM. This position includes benefits.

The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, be an exceptional communicator, highly organized, capable, and can efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. This individual will also have a passion to serve and a heart for ministry and missions. An Associate’s degree and at least two years of previous administrative assistant experience is required. A Bachelor’s degree and at least one (1) year experience supporting senior-level management is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations, including long periods of time sitting at a desk. The work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a moderate to high noise level.
