Avail is a New York City based organization with a mission to empower New Yorkers facing an unplanned pregnancy or past abortion. Avail does this by providing critical support and resources to inform their decisions, build healthy relationships, and promote healing.
Avail, originally Midtown Pregnancy Center, went through a rebranding in the last two years under the leadership of its current President in order to better serve its community. Since that time, Avail has experienced a tremendous amount of growth and has been able to significantly impact families facing unplanned pregnancies in New York City. To that end, this new position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be essential in order to advance the organization at this important time.
The COO will be critical in helping Avail build the infrastructure, systems, policies, and teams needed to grow the organization. This position is a tremendous opportunity for someone who is passionate about Avail’s mission and particularly talented at running high-performing organizations. The successful candidate will serve to implement the vision as set by the Board of Directors. They will oversee all operations of the organization, taking initiative, proactively planning for future strategic changes and growth, and anticipating needs, obstacles, and opportunities.
The COO will report directly to the President of Avail and will oversee all of Avail’s programs, including client services, finance, compliance, and operations. The COO will also oversee all talent development and human resources staffing at the center. The COO will play a critical role in executing all aspects of Avail’s long-term strategic plan. This is a full-time flexible position, requiring 32-40 hours per week. The COO will work primarily out of Avail’s midtown offices, and if desired, may be able to do some work from home. An undergraduate degree is required, MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
