Radio University Internship 2015*

The Salem Media Group of Washington DC (WAVA, 105.1FM & 780AM, WWRC, 1260AM and FamilyTalk, SiriusXM 131) is currently accepting applications from college students majoring in Communications (or a similar discipline) for our Spring/Summer Radio University
Internship Program for college credit. *Students must get permission from their college or university to participate in the internship for credit prior to consideration.
The Radio University internship is a part-time learning opportunity (20 hours a week) that runs mostly during business hours. The internship will take place at our radio stations located in Arlington, Virginia and each session runs for eight weeks.
A minimum of 150 hours are required and the intern may be asked to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours.
The right candidate for our Radio University program will be an enthusiastic and energetic individual with a good attitude and a strong desire to develop excellent skills for a successful career in broadcasting. Internship activities include weekly training
sessions with experienced professionals in all radio station departments (administration, management, production, programming, promotions, traffic and sales), the creation of station promotional material, introduction to web design, editing, copy-writing and
voicing commercials, creating sales presentation and representing Radio University at our station events in and around the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
